Winter

Winter is the season that comes after Autumn and before Spring.  Usually the coldest time of year, in some places the winter months can bring freezing temperatures, snow and ice.

Learning about the seasons helps children understand the passage of time and teaches them about change.  While some seasonsal changes are more obvious (like changes in the weather), there are many important subtle differences related to each season.

Our 'Winter' curriculum is a bumper planner with over 60 activities all designed to help teachers and educators engage children in activities that help them learn through curosity and discovery.  Activities include theme sensory trays, gross motor and fine motor skill development and care of self.

Prepare simple activities to help children learn about the types of food available during winter, hibernating animals and those that live in cold climates.  Engage children in scientific experiments such as how to make ice crystals, varying temperatures and density, and observe the effects heat has on melting ice.
