Transitioning to School

When children attend their first days at school, they come to the realisation that their world is changing. Things that were previously done for them are now to be done by them. While this can be an empowering moment for most children, some children may take a little longer to adjust.

Our TRANSITION TO SCHOOL curriculum planner includes a variety of activities to help preschool and school aged children with their care-of-self skills, which encourages their independence and confidence. The easy to prepare activities include teaching children how to prepare food for themselves, how to get dressed, and how to take care of their personal belongings. Language, science, maths and cultural activities also help to expand the child's knowledge about the world around them. By developing, strengthening and mastering simple life skills, children are sure to be confident and engaged learners as they progress through the school year.
