Children have a biological connection to all living things, yet there is something special about a child’s interest and love in animals. Research shows that when children are supported in their love for animals, they tend to also extend that love towards other living things such as plants and nature. We are drawn to species that are “other” than human and in many cases have an instinct to want to care for or nurture creatures that are small and vulnerable.
During our 'Animals' theme, children will be learning about and nurturing their love of animals. With so many topics that could potentially be covered in such a broad theme, we will be providing a variety of activities that cover a range of topics, giving opportunity for children to extended on their learning as they desire.
The themed based learning and activities will see children engage through music, sensory and practical life. They'll also learn about animals through science, maths and from a cultural perspective.
